Minghini's Welcomes Third Generation into Business
Minghini's General Contractors, Inc. of Martinsburg, WV has achieved a corporate benchmark not to mention a family achievement for company owners Craig and Berniece Collis. The entry of their son Jacob Collis into the business as Project Manager marks the third generation Collis to join the commercial contractor's construction team.
After working at Minghini's for more than a decade, in 1988 General Contractor Craig with his wife, Berniece, purchased the 151-year old business from Bruce Minghini. Craig's father, Boyd Collis, served as Construction Superintendent for the Company for the 30 years prior.
Before joining Minghini's, Jacob worked as a Project Engineer in a large commercial construction company in the DC Metro Area. Over the past five years he has helped manage a variety of projects, including the construction of several apartment buildings, an assisted living facility, and a precast parking garage – to mention a few.
Jacob graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management. Subsequently, he obtained his LEED Certification in 2009.
States Jacob, "Throughout my life I have always admired my father and his success, which led me to a career in the Construction Industry. Now that I am a part of the family business, I plan to continue following in my father's footsteps– just as he followed in his father's—and carry Minghini's into the next generation."
