HISTORY

Minghini’s General Contractors, Inc. was established in 1860 to serve the commercial construction needs of clients in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area.

Since 1988, the firm has been owned and operated by General Contractor, Craig Collis, and his partner and wife, Berniece Collis. Craig’s father served as Construction Supervisor at Minghini’s for many years, and Craig began his career on the construction team before moving into the position of Construction Supervisor himself. When the Collis family purchased Minghini’s General Contractors 30 years ago, Bruce Minghini remained a respected mentor.

Sons Jacob Collis and Morgan Collis joined the family business in 2011 as project manager and site manager, respectively, after studying construction and business at college and working with other construction enterprises. Since that time, it has been a truly family-led venture.

Over the last two decades, Minghini’s has grown rapidly in both size and reputation, but continues to retain its founding business philosophy: serve clients and deal ethically in all business transactions as guided by the Golden Rule.

The company’s focus on providing value-added consulting and top-notch craftsmanship has resulted in a widespread and loyal clientele. Professional awards have come from organizations such as Associated Builders and Contractors of Cumberland Valley. Minghini’s has additionally earned the “People’s Choice Award as Top Contractor in the Eastern Panhandle” in four annual polls conducted by The Journal newspaper out of Martinsburg, WV.

Minghini’s offers its customers solutions in the construction of new buildings, remodeling of existing facilities, and handling of ADA and adaptive-reuse retrofits for business, industrial, government, service, religious, professional, and retail customers.
